One of the artists who inspired me is Frida Kalo. She famous for her colourful paintings, naive art style self-portraits, political and life position
In her masterpieces Frida Kalo reflected about birth and death, women’s place in society, aesthetic of the human body and also about her own personal sorrow.
Personally, I admire Frida Kalo because of her strength of will and her hardworking, that even considering that it was physically hard for her to do even simple tasks, and even in young age, in age of 6 she get disease and one of the leg where shorter and thiner than other. And even after, when she got older Friday had the massive accident which influenced her future whole life, and even after that she get more stronger as a person and started a new page in your life - drawing self portraits. In that portraits and other pieces of works Frida was expressing her own feelings about certain aspects of her life.

Frida Kalo is the one of the greatest female artists which inspired a huge amount of amateur artists to create new masterpieces and also directors to make the films about her personality. One of the most famous film about her is Frida with Salma Hayek, which I watched on this holidays. In my opinion perfectly captures her character, her personal life and the atmosphere of that era.
Icebreaker exercise: Recreating an art work
After your first paragraph, add an image of a painting by Frida Kahlo that you were most interested in and discuss the work, what it meant, the message etc. This is a good way of getting used to creating analysis of artworks and something you should be doing throughout Art Portfolio.
