MATERIALS AND SUSTAINABILITY: WOOD AND TRIPLEX GLASS

In my project I am using only sustainable materials as I mentioned in previous posts about materials I will use hemp materials such as hempcreate and fibre hemp insulation. In this post I want to speak more about local materials: wood and triple glass. 

Zakarpattia oblast, place where my Rehabilitation centre will be located, is the one of the largest wood and wood recycling manufacturers in Ukraine. Which will help to reduce transport emissions. Also, it will help to support local economics. In Zakarpattia oblast located 43 wood manufacturers and suppliers (lesprom, n/d).   

This material will be used for facade of the main building, which will include wood frame of the building and facade. The wood for this building and further construction of it will be provided by M.A.Y SHPIN company which located in Zakarpattia oblast and specialised on constructing wooden houses, cottages, restaurants and recreation centres.

Triplex glass

For my project I will use sustainable glass for windows - triplex glass.  

Triplex glass promotes energy efficiency by providing insulation. This feature is particularly essential for the Rehabilitation Centre. It will help to reduce of using heating and cooling systems and will reduce costs for this. By this our rehabilitation centre will provide comfortable environment for visitors. 

Also, triplex glass is safely and secure option for windows because of the construction with multiple layers bonded together. Creating safety environment is critical importance for rehabilitation centre. 

In terms of sustainability, the use of triplex glass also contributes to the longevity of the building. This type of glass is resistant to impacts and harsh weather conditions, which are typical for winter in Ukraine. resistance ensures long serve life, reducing the need for often material replacement.

Using triplex glass in the Rehabilitation Centre helps Ukraine rebuild sustainably. By choosing eco-friendly materials and methods, the project not only helps soldiers now but also teaches others about green building. This way, The Vidnovlennya Centre becomes an example of how to build responsibly, which helps Zakarpattia Oblast and Ukraine grow in a way that lasts.
